Visual And Performing Arts Standards - Field Review

Arts educators, administrators, and other interested persons are welcomed to provide feedback on the newly revised South Carolina Visual and Performing Arts Academic Standards. Included in this survey are the arts disciplines of dance, media arts, music (general, choral, and instrumental), theatre, and visual arts. The survey requests your evaluation of the standards in terms of the criteria for writing the standards. These criteria include comprehensiveness/balance, rigor, measurability, manageability, and organization/communication. In addition, you are given the opportunity to respond to each indicator (previously called achievement standards). The South Carolina Department of Education appreciates your comments in order to ensure these academic standards further strengthen our students' ability to achieve artistic excellence. The survey will close on Friday, February 5, 2010.
